Clubs Day, Thursday!!! Join NUIG RFC!!!!

NUIG RFC invites all students interested in joining the club to come to CLUBS DAY this Thursday, 12th September, in the Kingfisher Sports Centre from 10am to 6pm.

With classes commencing at NUIG, it’s time to welcome back current members and prepare for the arrival of new recruits. NUIG RFC will be represented in force with personnel from both the men’s and women’s teams.Beginners as well as experienced players are invited to come and meet the club’s players, this Thursday, and to register with the club for what will be an exciting season for all of NUIG RFC’s teams.

2013 has already been an amazing year for Women’s rugby in Ireland. Fiona Coghlan captained the Women’s team to a historic Grand Slam and the Ireland Women’s Sevens team qualified for the Rugby World Cup and IRB Sevens World Series.

This year also saw the announcement of a Women’s Olympic Sevens Programme to qualify for the 2016 Olympics in Rio. Women’s Rugby has never been more popular and now you can GIVE IT A TRY!

We will have an indoor skills session in the sports hall in the Kingfisher at 7pm on the 12th. We will being having prizes for attendance sponsored by boojum. After that we’ll head to the Scholars Rest for some finger-food and a few drinks. No experience/prior knowledge of the game is necessary and fun is guaranteed! If you see yourself on the road to Rio or you’re just looking for a good way to have fun and stay fit in college come down and see what we’re all about.
